    Mr. Ahmad Thani Al Matrooshi, Managing Director, Emaar Properties PJSC, joined the company in 2005, bringing with him over 26 years of experience in real estate and property management.

    Mr. Matrooshi is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Emaar including government affairs, media, public and community relations and overall management of Emaar Dubai.

    Prior to joining Emaar, Mr. Matrooshi spent 24 years working with the Government of Dubai, serving for almost a decade as the CEO of Dubai Development Board (DDB) and for 14 years as the Deputy Director of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI).

    He is a Board Member of Dubai Investment Park, and is the Founder and Chairman of the non-profit Dubai Property Group (DPG). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration and a Diploma in Property Management.

    Mr. Ayman Hamdy

    Group Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary - Emaar Properties PJSC

    Mr. Ayman Hamdy, Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary joined Emaar in 2006.

    He is responsible for establishing the Emaar Group’s legal strategy, overseeing its legal and governance functions, securing legal protection for the company's assets, structuring major transactions and supervising the implementation of the company's bylaws, policies and regulations.

    Mr. Hamdy started his career with one of the largest law firms in Egypt, working on international business transactions and foreign investment matters. He served as a public prosecutor for three years before joining Unilever in Dubai as their Regional Head of Legal. He was also the Resident Partner of the Dubai office of a regional law firm, Shalakany Law Office.

    Mr. Hamdy studied law in Egypt, France and the United States.  He holds an LL.M. in US Law from the law school of Washington University in St. Louis.

    Mr. Hamdy is a Member of the Advisory Board, Executive Leadership Institute, Association of Corporate Counsel.  He is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association, the Egyptian Association of Judges, Egyptian Association of Public Prosecutors and a Fellow of the International Bar Association.

    Mr. Hamdy was awarded “General Counsel of the Year (highly commended)” by the Association of Corporate Counsel Middle East Achievement Award 2016.

    Mr. Avinash Pangarkar

    Group Chief Financial Officer, Emaar Properties

    With over 24 years of experience in finance functions and providing commercial support to businesses, Avinash Pangarkar joined Emaar Properties as Group Chief Financial Officer in November 2017. He has proven experience in investment analysis, joint ventures, acquisitions and divestitures, commercial negotiations, project and capital expenditure decisions, banking and finance, financial accounting, taxation, and risk management, among others. 

    He is responsible for the overall financial functions of the Group with a focus on resource use optimization, raising funding and help driving growth, both organic and through partnerships.

    Previously he was Chief Investments Officer of Abdul Latif Jameel Group, leading the Group's M&A and JV activities from target identification to integration, and playing an active role in strategic planning and business development. He has also worked as Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Holding, responsible for strategic planning on alignment of business, restructuring debt, renegotiating banking facilitates, and a five-year business planning exercise. 

    Avinash has worked as Chief Financial Officer at TECOM Investments (part of Dubai Holding), with overall responsibility of the finance, investment and procurement functions of the company, prior to which Avinash has held senior positions at Citigroup, Global Consumer Group and Microsoft Corporation.

    Avinash is a Chartered Accountant and Cost & Management Accountant, and is a graduate in Commerce from MS University, Baroda, India.

    Mr. Irfan Sadiq is the Chief Audit Officer at Emaar Properties, and joined the company in May 2014. He is responsible for overseeing and reviewing the effectiveness of the Emaar’s internal control environment, risk assessment and corporate governance.

    Mr. Sadiq has over 18 years of experience in auditing and assurance services, enterprise risk management, compliance and financial due diligence reviews. Prior to joining Emaar,  he was Executive Director in the Audit and Assurance Services of Ernst & Young in the UAE. He started his career with a ‘Big4’ professional services firm and served the audit and advisory services of the firm in Pakistan, the UAE, Canada and the USA.

    Mr. Sadiq is a Certified Public Accountant from the AICPA (USA), a Chartered Professional Accountant from CPA Canada, a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant from the ACCA (UK) and a Certified Internal Auditor from the IIA (USA). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Oxford Brookes University, UK.

    Mr. Ahmad Al Falasi

    Executive Director – Group Operations

    Mr. Ahmad Al Falasi, Executive Director – Group Operations, joined Emaar in 2002. He has been an integral team member in the development of Emaar’s iconic projects including Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, The Dubai Fountain and The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest retail and entertainment destination in Downtown Dubai.

    An experienced property management professional, he has been managing the company’s diverse service offerings including Customer Care, Contact Centre, Facilities Management, Property Handover, Property Transfer and Community Management divisions and is now taking it to the next level in professionalism and excellence. 

    Previously Executive Director – Property Management, he was responsible for planning and management of the operations, programmes, human resources, finance and risk management measures for Emaar’s key property developments in Dubai. 

    In his new role, he participates with the Board of Directors and Senior Management in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide different departments. He also works with the Finance Committee to prepare a comprehensive budget and recommend yearly budgets for the Board’s approval. Besides executing operational plans with current and long-term goals, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the various departments, he is also actively involved in human resources planning and management and implements a performance management programme for all staff. 

    He has served as Director – Property Management; Senior Manager – Property Management; Manager – Corporate Services & Administration; and Purchasing Manager – Corporate Services, at Emaar. Previously, he was Head of Brokers Section of Dubai Financial Market. 

    A graduate in Business Administration with majors in Economics from East Washington University, Mr. Al Falasi has successfully completed the Executive Development (PED) programme in General Management from the International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland.

    Ms. Maitha Al Dossari

    Chief Executive Officer – Strategic Projects

    Ms. Maitha Al Dossari is the Chief Executive Officer – Strategic Projects at Emaar Properties. Reporting directly to the Chairman, she is responsible for leading several highly strategic projects relating to Emaar’s customer franchise.

    Ms. Al Dossari is mandated to enhance customer satisfaction in relation to Emaar’s developments, and will focus on strategic initiatives that delight customers and rapidly address their concerns. She is also in charge of monitoring project progress and identifying opportunities to accelerate project work as well as in monitoring project quality, reviewing customer complaints and resolving them promptly. 

    Ms. Al Dossari joined Emaar Properties in 2000 and with extensive experience in leading business-to-consumer retail and passionate about enhancing customer service standards, Ms. Al Dossari was the former Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Entertainment LLC, a subsidiary that focuses on providing premium leisure and entertainment experiences. In parallel, she also serves as the Head of Procurement, Administration & Logistics of Emaar Properties PJSC and Pre-Opening Procurement of Emaar Hospitality Group. She has extensive experience in procurement, logistics and operations covering various business functions including process optimisation, policies, procedures, auditing, and cost control, among others.

    Ms. Al Dossari is a graduate in Business Administration & Finance. She also acquired Executive MBA and Program for Executive Development (PED) - General Management at IMD (International Institute for Management Development) Business Programs, Switzerland.

    From 2015 to 2017, Ms. Maitha Al Dossari has been consecutively awarded as one of the Most Powerful Arab Women.

    Mr. Hadi Badri is Chief Strategy Officer at Emaar Properties. He joined Emaar Properties in 2015 and leads EMAAR's Strategy, Business Performance and Human Resource teams.

    Hadi has over 9 years of management consulting and corporate strategy experience and 5 years of global private equity experience.

    Prior to EMAAR, Hadi was a Principal at Bain & Company. In this role, Hadi developed corporate and business unit strategies for several leading conglomerates and financial institutions.

    He was previously Executive Director of the CEO's Office at SHUAA Capital where he was responsible for corporate strategy, M&A and special projects.

    Hadi transferred to SHUAA from Dubai International Capital (DIC) where he was involved in the deployment of over $5BN in regional and international buyouts, growth and development capital deals, minority stakes, pre-IPOs, public equities and LP interests.

    In 2006, Hadi was seconded to The Carlyle Group in Washington DC. During his time at Carlyle, Hadi served as an Associate with Carlyle Venture Partners and focused on US growth buyouts.

    Hadi was previously an Associate in the Strategy Department of The Executive Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He also served as a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum.

    Mr. Ibrahim Alhashmi is the Executive Director – Corporate Services at Emaar Properties. Bringing over 30 years of experience in key functions including people management, strategic organisational leadership and marketing, he joined the company in 2017. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the Corporate Services strategy. He has served as Executive Director of Sales at Emaar Properties, Board Member & Managing Director – Syria of Emaar, leading and establishing the company’s operations. 

    Previously, he was Associate Director – Employee Services at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, involved in launching hotel chains and developing the facilities and employee manuals. He served as Acting General Manager and Deputy General Manager at Dubai World Trade Centre, and has worked in senior roles at Emirates Airline including as Employment & National Development Manager. 

    Mr. Alhashmi holds a Bachelor degree in Economics & Business Administration from UAE University.

    A seasoned marketing professional, Mr. Rami El Tawil is the Chief Marketing Officer of Emaar Properties; he joined the company in May 2012. He is responsible for leading the corporate marketing function, including the development and implementation of Emaar’s marketing strategy. In addition, he set up the company’s in-house media and sponsorship department managing digital, media selling, buying and planning.

    Mr. El Tawil has over 12 years of experience in senior management roles in mid- to large-size organisations including multinational agencies and government entities. His primary focus has been on growing the media business in the GCC and MENA region by working closely with clients and stakeholders. 

    Previously, a Senior Commercial Director at Emaar and Head of Media, Sponsorship and Media Business Development, he has worked as Media Manager – Broadcast & Digital Out of Home at Abu Dhabi Media handling a portfolio of five radio stations, and Regional Media Manager at MEC. 

    Mr. El Tawil holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing and Executive MBA from the University of Atlanta in the USA.

    Mr. Chris O’Donnell, Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Development, joined the company in August 2017, bringing over 40 years of proven experience in property development, construction, property management and funds management.

    Mr. O’Donnell was previously Group Director - Real Estate at Al-Futtaim leading the operations and expansion of real estate projects in the UAE, GCC and North Africa. Earlier, he was CEO of Nakheel responsible for the overall management of the company’s Dubai-based operations, and worked as Managing Director of Investa Property Group, a listed company in Australia. 

    He also served as Managing Director of Leighton Property Funds Management, Capital Property Trust and Capital Property Group. He has held other senior executive roles with leading Australian organisations such as Lend Lease, Westpac and Leighton Group.

    Mr. O’Donnell is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors, Fellow of Australian Property Institute and Affiliate member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He holds a Diploma in Business (Real Estate Management) from Canberra Institute of Technology in Australia.

    He is a Certified Public Accountant from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a certified Company Secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).

    Mr. Grover holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi in India.

    Mr. Nasser Rafi

    Mr. Nasser Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of Emaar Malls, joined Emaar Properties PJSC in 2005, as Head of Information Technology.

    He currently leads the strategic growth of Emaar Malls with a focus on improving tenant mix policies while remaining sensitive to consumer trends, strengthening visitor footfall and increasing retail revenues in the existing mall portfolio of the company.

    In addition to conceptualising and implementing growth strategies for The Dubai Mall, the flagship mall development of Emaar Malls, Dubai Marina Mall and Souk Al Bahar, Mr. Rafi also explores new mall development opportunities in key emerging markets, where Emaar has a geographic presence.

    Mr. Rafi was previously the Managing Director of Hamptons International – Middle East, and has a proven track record in projecting market trends and implementing sales strategies. He was involved in establishing the brand identity of Hamptons, identifying new consumer segments, evolving the project portfolio and strengthening the company’s rich assortment of value-added services.

    He holds a Masters Degree in Computer Science, with a focus on artificial intelligence, business intelligence software, and has extensive experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

    Formerly, CEO of Emaar Misr, he has served as the Group Business Development & Operations Officer.

    He joined Emaar as Executive Director of the Internal Audit Department. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Emaar Industries and the Chairman of its Executive Committee. 

    He is a graduate in Commerce and Accounting from Ain Shams University and holds a number of professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE). He has also completed the Advanced Management Programme by INSEAD in France.

    He oversees the on-schedule completion of King Abdullah Economic City and is responsible for enhancing its appeal to international and regional investors.

    A financial, investment and management professional, he has several years of experience working with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, promoting investments into the Kingdom and in managing Economic Cities.

    Mr. Al-Rasheed also has several years of finance experience gained from his work with Saudi Aramco. He holds an MBA and a BS in Business Administration from Stanford specialising in Finance and International Business.

    Olivier Harnisch brings to Emaar over 30 years of international experience in the hotel and tourism industry. He joined Emaar from Brussels, where he was Chief Operating Officer of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, responsible for a portfolio of over 350 hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, leading a team of over 40.000 associates. 

    Olivier has acquired in-depth expertise in all aspects of the hospitality business through multiple leadership roles across four continents. He started his career in Nice, France in 1986, and was initially associated with individual hotels, food & beverage operations and airlines for over 13 years. This enabled him to gain strong insights in classic hospitality and in developing compelling guest experiences. He then worked at Hilton Worldwide for over 14 years where he held the position of Vice President, Northern and Central Europe, before joining the Carlson Rezidor Group in 2012. Having worked across the globe, Olivier is fluent in six languages. Olivier was also a board member of the German Hotel Association and of the Faculty of Hotel Administration at the University of Munich.

    He holds an MSc in Organizational Behavior from the University of London, an MBA in International Finance from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and a Degree in Hospitality Management from the Berlin School of Hotel Administration. In addition, Olivier has been the awarded the distinction “Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA)” by the American Hotel and Lodging Association. 

    Olivier holds a US pilot license since 1998 and is a passionate airplane pilot. He is also an avid water-skier. He lives with his wife and two children in Dubai.

    A veteran global hospitality professional with over 17 years of experience, Chris Newman is Chief Operating Officer at Emaar Hospitality Group. He is mandated with driving the strategic growth of the organisation through new ventures, expansion, and partnerships, and achieving the highest standards of operational efficiency across all touch-points. 

    Chris is responsible for the strategic operations of all three hotel brands of Emaar Hospitality Group including The Address Hotels + Resorts, Vida Hotels and Resorts and the Rove Hotels together with Emaar Hospitality Group’s Leisure Clubs and Lifestyle Dining Division. He will also drive the growth of the company to new markets in line with the strategic vision of Emaar Properties, the holding company of Emaar Hospitality Group. 

    With proven skills in visionary and macro thinking, strategy development, commercial & relationship management, and people, processes & talent management, Chris has previously worked on large-scale hospitality projects for leading international brands in several global markets including Egypt, Nigeria, The Gambia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Malawi, Guyana in South America, West Indies, Bahamas, Greece, London and Switzerland. 

    Over the years, he has created a sustainable operations model for greenfield ventures, including pre-opening support, as well as developed operational protocols to maximise revenue and profitability for established projects. He has also championed a number of corporate social responsibility initiatives. 

    Chris holds a Higher National Diploma in Hotel, Catering & Institutional Management from the Westminster School of Catering, London, and a Certification in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management from Cornell University, New York.  He holds a number of industry certificates in Group Training Techniques, Managing Sales Platforms, Management Communication Skills and High Performance Financial Management for Hotels, among others. 

    Chris is fluent in English and French. He is interested in scuba diving, kite surfing, yoga, saxophone and motorbikes, and is a competitive triathlete and cyclist.

    With over 25 years of experience in the strategic management of leading leisure and retail attractions in the Middle East and the UK, Damien Latham joined Emaar Entertainment as Chief Executive Officer in January 2018. He is responsible for driving the growth of the business entity with a focus on expanding its leisure assets and enhancing their operational efficiency and productivity.

    Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer at Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), overseeing three business verticals, covering 53 entities across 10 countries, and managing unique leisure attractions, family entertainment centres and specialty retail introducing both the Lego and American girl franchises to the region. He was responsible for the development of 32 family entertainment centres in four new countries.

    At MAF, he has worked in various capacities including as Chief Operating Officer, Director of Operations and General Manager – Leisure & Entertainment.

    Damien has also worked as General Manager of Bourne Leisure UK, responsible for running its award-winning resort, and as General Manager of the Wahooo! Waterpark where he led the 65 Million USD project from design to delivery.  In related roles in the Leisure & Entertainment industry, Damien has worked as Leisure Manager across 9 businesses, and Waterpark Manager both at Centre Parcs Resort UK.

    He is the Vice Chairman of the World Waterpark Association and one of the Founding Members of the Middle East and North Africa Leisure Attractions Council.

    Mr. Jasper Hope, an accomplished international professional with deep insights in the management of high-end cultural venues and events, joined Emaar Properties as Chief Executive of the iconic Dubai Opera, the centerpiece of The Opera District development in Downtown Dubai, in January 2015. 

    He serves as Dubai Opera’s lead officer and international advocate focused on setting its artistic direction and driving global stakeholder relationships. He is also mandated with ensuring the commercial success of Dubai Opera and developing its profile internationally.

    Formerly, Chief Operating Officer of Royal Albert Hall, he was responsible for the successful implementation of all operational management criteria and the leadership of the day-to-day business of the Hall. 

    He also served as Senior Director of AEG Live at UK Live Events, responsible for creating and managing new entertainment business for the company. He was also International Vice President and General Manager for Europe at IMG, leading projects such as The Hampton Court Palace Festival in London and Nobel Peace Prize Concert. 

    Mr. Hope holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Hotel and Catering Management from Oxford Polytechnic, and was elected as Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2008 and to the Council for the Corps of Army Music. He also served as a Board Member of Exhibition Road Cultural Group.

    Waleed Dhaduk is the Acting Chief Executive Officer as well as the Chief Investment Officer of Emaar Industries & Investments (“EII”) where he is responsible for leading the company’s overall strategy, managing the investment portfolio, and delivering the growth plan. 

    Mr. Dhaduk is also a member of the Investment Committee of EII and sits on the Boards of various investee companies including Memaar Building Systems, Starwood Industries, Gutmann Middle East, AASA, Leaders Fort Contracting, Service Market and Abode Investments. In addition to this, Mr. Dhaduk is a Board and an Investment Committee member of Dubai Angel Investors, a leading technology investment platform. 

    Mr. Dhaduk represents over 17 years of global professional experience in private equity, strategy consulting and investment banking. Throughout his career, he has been repeatedly been recognized for delivering growth and creating value across the investment management value chain. Before joining EII, Mr. Dhaduk was a Partner at Stratum, a private equity and investment advisory firm in Bahrain, where he was responsible for originating, evaluating, structuring, executing and managing investments across a range of sectors.

    Prior to Stratum, Mr. Dhaduk served in various strategy consulting and investment banking roles in Bahrain and Canada at leading global firms including Ernst & Young, Canadian Tire Corporation, Cap Gemini and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Dhaduk holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Queen’s University in Canada. Additionally, Mr. Dhaduk has pursued various courses in Economics and Finance at the London School of Economics and Harvard University.
