Today, Emaar’s communities are also cultural hubs, showcasing impressive works of arts by regional and international artists, while we are taking the city’s cultural appeal to the next level with The Opera District that underlines the development vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Art Dubai has evolved as a key driver of Dubai’s arts scene, and through our partnership, we are highlighting our commitment to create a dynamic platform for promoting the city as a global arts destination.”
Antonia Carver, Fair Director, Art Dubai, said; “It is an honour to welcome Emaar to the Art Dubai family. As the developer behind globally renowned icons of our city, Emaar has also made a much-valued contribution to enhancing our cultural lives and creating inspiring public spaces. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with Emaar to further stimulate and support our local artistic and creative communities. Together I believe we can attract even more global and regional galleries, artists, designers and makers, art collectors, and art lovers to Dubai – strengthening our city’s status as the regional hub for art, culture and creativity.”
Taking place at Madinat Jumeirah from March 19-22, 2014, Art Dubai is the leading international art fair in the Middle East and South Asia and acts as an essential meeting point in the art world, offering the opportunity to engage with the most comprehensive line-up of artists from across the region and beyond. This year, for the first time, the fair will present over 80 galleries in three distinct programmes – Contemporary, Modern, and Marker – together featuring over 500 artists.
Growing its reach through history as well as geography and always foregrounding quality and a curatorial approach, Art Dubai is a fair of discovery and diversity which brings together the most influential regional and global galleries to engage with the vibrant art scene in the region.
Art Dubai is held in partnership with The Abraaj Group and is sponsored by Cartier and Emaar. The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority is a strategic partner of Art Dubai, and supports the fair's year-round education programme.
