Istanbul, Turkey; May 24, 2011: Emaar Turkey, the wholly owned country subsidiary of global property developer Emaar Properties PJSC, is introducing the ‘Slow Life’ concept to Tuscan Valley Houses, the company’s integrated master-planned community.

Tuscan Valley Houses, Emaar’s first project in Turkey, is now a fully established neighbourhood that sprawls over an area of 1.7 million sq m in Büyükçekmece, a fast growing region in Istanbul.

Integrating the harmony of nature with modern lifestyle amenities, the community is celebrating ‘Slow Life,’ a concept that originated in Italy in the early 1990s as a way of city-planning and lifestyle that preserves the true elements of nature and traditional heritage but is also receptive to modern technological developments.

Tuscan Valley Houses is aligned with the design approach of ‘Slow Life,’ which is now being highlighted with ‘Pink Snails,’ one of the world’s popular touring street exhibitions that Emaar Turkey is hosting in the streets of Istanbul to strengthen awareness about its master-planned community.

Beginning their journey from the southeast coast of the US, the Pink Snails have travelled through several metropolitan cities, most recently in Italy, and won critical and mass acclaim at Art Basel. In addition to underscoring the serenity much cherished in modern lifestyle environments, the Pink Snails also highlight the message of environmental sustainability.

Ümit Türüdü Şen, Emaar Turkey Deputy General Manager, Sales & Marketing, said: “Tuscan Valley Houses has set a distinct imprint in luxury lifestyle with its spectacular location, unique architecture and construction quality. The second phase of the development is fast progressing and will complement the already established first phase of homes. The introduction of the Slow Life concept aims to reiterate the high quality of living that Tuscan Valley homes promises to our customers.”

He added: “Tuscan Valley Houses is a perfect getaway from the bustle of the city, and serves as an ideal retreat, while enabling the residents to access the city centre easily. ‘Slow Life’ does not mean living in slow motion; it means slowing down and speeding up as required and in finding the ideal balance between the two.”

Taking its name from the Italian countryside, Tuscan Valley Houses are marked by the architectural design and natural elements that characterise the Mediterranean way of life. The development features 12 different types of 540 luxury villas, semi-detached villas and apartments with gardens and terraces.

The total recreational, social spaces and gardens in the community is spread over 1.27 million sq metres, and the green spaces are equal in area to that of 300 soccer fields. Some 90,000 plants have been brought from Italy have been brought in to add to the green environment. The community is only 20 minutes from the Ataturk Airport and less than one hour from the city center.

The second phase of Tuscan Valley Houses, which is envisaged to be completed in four phases, feature smaller sized twin villas and 2-storey apartments with lake views, also designed with Tuscan-style architectural features. The spacious villas with sea and lake views include a master suite, double-bath bedroom, maid’s room, dining room, living room, laundry room, terrace, kitchen, storeroom and covered parking.

A key component of the second phase is the Tuscan Shopping Arcade with a leasable space of 3,658 sq m. It will feature 16 retail outlets and meeting rooms in addition to parking for 100 vehicles.
