‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day’ underscores nation’s global outlook and ambition

Dubai, UAE; December 1, 2013: A wave of patriotism and the spirit of joyous celebration swept through the spectacular Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard today as thousands gathered to witness ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day,’ the vibrant event saluting the ‘Spirit of the Union.’

Dubai, UAE; December 1, 2013: A wave of patriotism and the spirit of joyous celebration swept through the spectacular Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard today as thousands gathered to witness ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day,’ the vibrant event saluting the ‘Spirit of the Union.’

Coinciding with the UAE’s win to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai and the 42nd National Day celebration, ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day’ was a fitting tribute to the vision and leadership of the country.

Featuring elements that define the UAE’s cultural identity and its drive towards the future and ability to push the frontiers, ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day’ featured themed floats on Dubai, its iconic achievements, multicultural diversity, and a salute to the World Expo 2020 win.

Members from various cultural organisations, students from schools across the Emirates, bikers’ and sports clubs, and mascots joined the celebrations, showcased through roaming entertainment, novelty balloons, colourful floats, performing arts, musical acts, and horse parades.

A highlight of ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day’ was a unique display by the Lotus F1® Team, with a show car on a dedicated float, highlighting Emaar’s global collaborations as the team’s ‘Official Partner.’ The show car will be on display at The Dubai Mall until December 11, 2013.

Dubai Healthcare City marked the conclusion of its ‘7 Emirates Run’ during ‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day,’ bringing it closer to its goal of helping children get back on their feet; while Dubai Events & Promotions Establishment (DEPE) marked its tribute to UAE’s National Day by hosting the ‘Happiest Nation’ initiative at Burj Park.

‘The Parade – Downtown Dubai, UAE National Day’ also shows participation from the various entities of Emaar Properties including Downtown Dubai, The Dubai Mall, SEGA Republic, Reel Cinemas, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, KidZania®, The Address Hotels + Resorts, Vida Hotels and Resorts, Al Manzil hotel and At the Top, Burj Khalifa.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, which connects Downtown Dubai’s iconic attractions, is home to some of the most sought-after events in the city including the Emirates Classic Car Festival and the Downtown Dubai New Year’s Eve Gala.
