Dubai, UAE; October 13, 2013: The largest assortment of entertainment and festivities await visitors to The Dubai Mall during the Eid Al Adha holidays, when the mall will also open all night long during the first and second day of Eid, assuring unprecedented fun with family and friends.  Additionally, the mall will have extended trading hours from 10am to 3am through October 19, 2013.

The flagship development of Emaar Malls Group and the world’s most visited shopping and leisure destination, is bringing first-of-its-kind events that will elevate the holiday mood of visitors and also significantly boost Dubai’s reputation as the must-visit tourism destination this Eid.

Kicking off the Eid celebrations, The Dubai Mall hosted the Middle East’s first Vogue Dubai Fashion Experience. Organised by Emaar Properties and Vogue Italia, the unique high-fashion event featured a glittering line-up of fashion shows by emerging fashion talent and other in-mall activities by leading international brands. A charity dinner gala raised funds for Dubai Cares, the organisation that works to promote primary education among underprivileged children around the world.

A strategic partner of the Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment, The Dubai Mall is marking the city’s ‘Eid in Dubai’ celebration with the ‘All Night Long’ programme including raffle draws and giveaways. A range of prizes including an Audi R8 2014 await shoppers on a minimum spend of AED 300 at the retail outlets in the mall as part of the Eid celebration. They can also double the chances of winning when they shop during the extended trading hours. Visitors benefit from exclusive bargains on shopping, dining and entertainment. There will be surprises in store too with special giveaways for those who stay up all night at the mall.

Among the colourful Eid activities include traditional Arabic hospitality across the mall, Emirati traditional dance performances, roaming mascots including the beloved characters from the much-loved movie Despicable Me, balloon shows and entertainers.

A highlight this Eid is the exclusive live concert of Hal Al Turk on the Fashion Catwalk on the second day of Eid. There will be stand-up comedy sessions from 2am to 3am both in English and Arabic, and flash mobs taking centrestage late night and early morning. For the children, the mall will not only host arts and crafts events at The Village, but also exclusive children’s flash mob performances.

Nasser Rafi, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Malls Group, said: “The Dubai Mall is the pride of the city offering visitors unmatched shopping and leisure experiences. As the retail and entertainment hub, the mall also plays a key role in driving tourism to the city, in line with the Dubai Tourism Vision 2020 announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. With 24-hour operations during the first two days of Eid and a carefully planned calendar of events for the entire family, the mall will be the place to be to celebrate the joy of the festive season.”

Located in the heart of the prestigious Downtown Dubai mixed-use development, The Dubai Mall has over 1,200 retail stores, two anchor department stores and over 200 F&B outlets. The 440,000 sq ft Fashion Avenue, dedicated to high fashion, positions The Dubai Mall as the fashion capital for the region, while The Souk, featuring 99 stores offering gold & jewellery, traditional handicrafts, souvenirs, abayas, perfumes and carpets, among others, is a dedicated precinct designed to reflect traditional Arabic heritage and culture.
