Roots Education System takes root in Canyon Views at Emaar, Islamabad
 

Islamabad, Pakistan; July 8th, 2010: Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of global property developer Emaar Properties PJSC, has entered into an agreement with Roots School System (RSS), Pakistan to open a Roots School Campus in Islamabad’s premier Canyon Views residential development.

The Roots School System, a leading national educational household name in the education sector, will start its operations in Canyon Views as early as August 2010 with a pilot school to be transformed later into a flagship purpose built campus of the Roots school system. The announcement was made at ceremony held at Canyon Views to mark the signing of the agreement between Emaar Pakistan, the developer of the Canyon Views, and the management of Roots School System, Pakistan.

Dr. Dia Malaeb, Regional CEO of Emaar Middle East & Emaar Pakistan Group and Mr. Faisal Mushtaq, Director of Roots School System signed and exchanged the documents of agreement from both sides, while Mr. Matt Cronje , GM Emaar Pakistan and Mr. Mushtaque Rasul Chaudhry, CEO of Roots School System were also present on the occasion. A large number of residents of Canyon Views, faculty and parents of RSS students, distinguished leaders of civil and business society and from various walks of life were present at this signing ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Matt Cronje said school offering was always an integral part of the gated community as Canyon Views is, and it was good to see this promise turning into a reality at such an early stage. “Canyon Views project is now at an advance stage of development where property handovers are in progress and life is blooming progressively,” he said, adding “the opening of a quality internationally recognized school like Roots also marks Emaar’s commitment to its promise of delivering quality lifestyle community integrated with quality education as an amenity and service for the benefit of its valued customers.”

Emaar Pakistan signs Rs 1.5 billion contract for construction works in Crescent Bay
 

Karachi, Pakistan; July 02, 2010: Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of global property developer Emaar Properties PJSC, has signed Rs 1.5 billion contract with Paragon Constructors for the construction of mega structures in Crescent bay Karachi.

The contract which involves enormous construction and uplift work to be carried out in the 108-acre Crescent Bay was signed with Regional CEO of Emaar, Dr Dia Malaeb and Mr Aftab Siddiqui, Managing Director of Paragon signing the agreement documents from both sides.

Speaking on the occasion, Matt Cronje, GM Emaar Pakistan elaborated on key features of the nature of projects and the plans for construction and uplift of Crescent Bay, a vibrant seafront community of high-rise towers set along three crescent shaped man-made bays. “The Crescent Bay Development Project has been planned to enhance the Karachi skyline by providing a unique and quality residential, commercial and retail community in an exclusive area of the city,” he said.

Mr. Matt Cronje, reconfirmed Emaar’s presence in Pakistan and noted that Emaar is looking forward to a new era of business growth and in particular to the role Emaar will play in the developing of real estate in Pakistan.

The amount of contract is exclusive of the already awarded/completed works with regard to Pile Caps, Slab on Grade and Raft Foundation.

Emaar’s Crescent Bay Project:Construction of Raft starts on towers,Karachi
 

Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC- developer of the world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa, is progressing at a very steady pace on its projects in Karachi and has already handed over the first batch of Mirador villas to its customers in Islamabad.

Piling works at Crescent Bay are well in progress and consequently the construction of raft foundation has started. Hundreds of foundation piles below each high rise building have been embedded into the bedrock in order to achieve full structural stability of the buildings and now the rafts will be constructed on this foundation

Dr. Dia Malaeb, CEO Emaar Pakistan expressed his satisfaction on the pace of work at Crescent Bay Project in Karachi and said that the company is moving ahead vigorously on its project. He said “Emaar is a global brand which has developed the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa and world’s largest mall The Dubai Mall. In Pakistan, we are committed and determined to keep our promises made to our valuable customers and the steady pace of progress in both our projects is evident to that.”

The current phase of the project is being constructed by Paragon Constructors (Pvt.) Limited whereas Engineering Associates Consulting Engineers are the official supervision and quality control engineers of the project. Approximately 3,220 cubic meters of concrete and 400 tons of steel will be used in the construction of each raft, ensuing quality construction. The raft will be properly protected by a waterproofing membrane. The top of the raft will become the Parking level of the building at the Second Basement Level.

The land reclamation & edge protection works started in November 2005, and top quality rocks, soil and backfilling materials were used by leading local contractor M/s Mayzood Giga.

Crescent Bay, the seafront wonder, is a vibrant community of high-rise towers set along three crescent shaped man-made bays. Emaar Pakistan awards Rs 400 million road construction contract in Canyon Views to Maqbool Associates
 

Islamabad; April 22, 2009: Emaar Pakistan, the country-subsidiary of global property developer Emaar PJSC, has awarded the contract for constructing roads in Canyon Views to Maqbool Associates (Pvt) Limited. Canyon Views is Emaar’s pioneering master-planned community in Islamabad and the contract covers construction of roads to network the Mirador Villa community in the project. The Rs 400 million road contract is expected to be completed in 289 days from the date of commencement of work.

Emaar Pakistan award construction contract of alma townhome to habib rafique group
 

Islamabad: April 2, 2009: Having completed first stage of development work Emaar Pakistan, the country-subsidiary of global property developer Emaar PJSC, awarded the contract for construction of 80 Alma Townhomes at Canyon Views in Islamabad to Habib Rafique (Pvt) Limited (HRL), today. Work on the Townhomes will commence shortly and is scheduled for completion in March, 2011.

Emaar Pakistan Celebrates First Year of Successful Implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite
 

Islamabad January 26, 2009 - Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC, has successfully completed the first year of the deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite at its regional office.

“Emaar Pakistan implemented Oracle ERP as a step forward in adopting new technologies and part of management’s efforts to achieve greater efficiency at Emaar Pakistan’s operations” said Emaar Pakistan CEO Dr. Dia Malaeb who was present at the ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of the first year.

Pakistan has been the first country of Emaar international operations outside Dubai to implement Oracle ERP global instance leading the way for other operations such as Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and others who are starting to implement the system. Emaar Pakistan was also the first real-estate development company in Pakistan to make real-time use of a robust ERP solution for managing its property sales launches over ERP system. Oracle (ERP) application suite was identified as a key business requirement by Emaar International Risk Management Group, Dubai. Its implementation at Emaar Pakistan has enabled the finance, sales, property and purchase modules to be interlinked allowing all sales launches to be conducted online and Emaar to continue its focus on customer satisfaction.

With the implementation of eleven modules, the project was completed in record time of six months and achieved hundred percent objectives, in terms of time and costs. Since the successful Go – Live on 1st January, 2008, the program has proved very successful in data gathering, & reporting and has supported an increase customer satisfaction.

Emaar Pakistan signs agreement with Paragon Construction for piling work of towers in plot 7 & 8 of Crescent Bay
 

Karachi, Pakistan; September 2, 2008: Emaar Pakistan, the country-subsidiary of global property developer Emaar Properties PJSC, has awarded the piling work contract for towers in plot 7 & 8 within Crescent Bay to Paragon Construction, a leading Pakistani company. Crescent Bay is the pioneering master-planned community being developed by Emaar Pakistan in Karachi and is part of a multi-billion dollar investment by the company in the country’s real estate sector.

Mr Saleem Butt, Chief Operating Officer, Emaar Pakistan, signed the agreement with Mr Aftab Siddique of Paragon Construction in Karachi, recently. As per the contract valued at over Rs2 billion, Paragon will undertake the piling work for Reef and Pearl Towers within Crescent Bay, with piling expected to be completed in six months. Work on the super structure and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works will start thereafter.

Mr Butt said: “Crescent Bay is energizing Karachi’s property sector as the pioneering master-planned community that brings in world-class standards in engineering and construction. Paragon Construction has been selected for the piling work for their accomplished track record in working with landmark projects.”

Emaar DHA Islamabad Ltd assigned ‘PE 1’ developer rating by PACRA and NESPAK
 

Islamabad, Pakistan; July 07, 2007: Emaar DHA Islamabad Ltd, the joint venture between Emaar Pakistan and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Islamabad, has been assigned the PE1 developer rating by the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA) and National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Limited (NESPAK).

The top-most rating by the apex credit rating authorities in the country signifies the “strong project execution capacity, the most promising prospects of execution of real estate projects as per the plan, and the highest ability to transfer ownership as per terms.”

Assigning the rating, PACRA and NESPAK observed: “Emaar DHA Islamabad Ltd enjoys a clear edge over most of the real estate developers working in Pakistan mainly because of its strong affiliation with Emaar Properties, which has completed multiple projects. It is following the same robust system of procedures, policies and controls employed elsewhere by Emaar.”

Emaar Pakistan is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC, a Dubai-based company with a significant global presence in 16 countries. Emaar, an FT Global 500 company, is developing several iconic developments including Burj Dubai, on course to becoming the world’s tallest tower.
