Emaar unveils The Old Town Island

Dubai, November 20, 2005: Emaar Properties unveils its much awaited Burj Dubai project - The Old Town Island, a 26-hectare Arabian inspired island located on the Burj Dubai Lake and opposite the Burj Dubai – the tallest tower in the world when completed in 2008. Containing some of the most beautifully designed homes to emerge from the downtown at Burj Dubai to date, The Old Town Island will also offer boutique offices, a hotel and spa and some of Dubai’s finest entertainment and retail venues.

The Old Town Island captures the traditional charm of ancient Arabia yet offers an exclusive and modern lifestyle and an exceptional way to experience downtown living at Burj Dubai. The first phase of The Old Town Island – Tajer Residences - is due to go on sale in the next few weeks with a model apartment open for viewing from today – Sunday, November 20. Prospective buyers can visit the model apartment in The Old Town Presentation Centre located within the Burj Dubai development, just off the Burj Dubai interchange.

The Old Town Island is designed as a mixed use town within a city. Neighbourhoods contain a mixture of exquisite low-rise waterfront apartments, 35,000 square metres of retail in the style of a traditional souk, 8,000 square metres of boutique offices and a five star hotel. With a bridge linking it directly to The Dubai Mall, the island is at the very heart of Burj Dubai’s downtown.

Bahiya Kayed, Assistant Director - Sales, Emaar Properties, said: “The Old Town Island is a truly unique neighbourhood. Nowhere else would the low-rise charm of bygone days be located at the heart of a bustling downtown and look out towards the world’s tallest building. With some of the world’s best leisure and entertainment options on its door step, The Old Town Island combines the very best of two exquisite worlds.”

Peppered with market squares, meandering alleyways and inner courtyards, The Old Town Island contains the perfect fusion of stalls, boutiques and coffee houses during the day, while the lantern lit streets become the perfect venue for live music and outdoor restaurants by night.

With some of the best views of the magnificent Burj Dubai rising up above the tranquil Burj Dubai Lake with its moored boats and beautiful surrounding landscape, The Old Town Island is an ideal location to take advantage of Dubai’s most stunning vistas.

Divided into four sectors, Tajer (East), Al Bahar (North), Attareen (West) and Manara Hotel, The Old Town Island includes one, two and three bedroom apartments with living space ranging from 840 sq ft to 3,284 sq ft. Each of the 405 apartments in The Old Town Island is unique with its own individual layout.

Offering a range of lifestyle options from trend setting one bedroom apartments to larger family homes, residents of The Old Town Island have a plethora of amenities to choose from including multiple living areas, terraces, gardens and pools or jacuzzis.

The Old Town Island offers a range of first class choices for residents and visitors including speciality restaurants, night club, business centre, swimming pools, spa, fitness centre and children’s play areas.
