Emaar sets new record with 10,000th home handover

Dubai, June 15, 2005: Emaar Properties, developer of iconic projects such as the Burj Dubai, today passed a hugely significant landmark when it celebrated the handing over of its 10,000th property to the new owner.

Emaar’s signature developments have been at the heart of the Dubai ‘economic miracle’ and have delivered on its pledge to ‘Shape the future. Today’.

The residential developments alone – Emirates Hills, Dubai Marina, The Meadows, The Greens, The Springs, Arabian Ranches, The Lakes and Emaar Towers   have effectively changed the face of Dubai within the past five years and redefined lifestyles in the emirate.

Emaar’s innovative offering of self-contained, amenities-rich communities created lifestyle options that were the first choice for many residents. The integration of schools, parks, landscaped grounds and retail centres into master-planned golf, equestrian and marina themed lifestyles has proved a winning combination.

The sheer scale and speed of its development has helped turn Dubai into the most dynamic property ‘hotspot’ in the Middle East.

It has been a spectacular success story not only in terms of delivering innovative top class product and services, but also in the financial performance of the group, which has seen profits and the share price soar on the back of its operational success.

With the group poised to build on its domestic success with forays into new markets and sectors and the development of Downtown Dubai and the world’s tallest tower – Burj Dubai, the pace of growth is not slackening.

Mohamed Ali Alabbar, Emaar’s Chairman, said: “Today’s event is a triumph for the UAE, for Dubai and for Emaar. We are creating something here in Dubai that everyone – from this region to Europe, the subcontinent, the Far East, even as far as Australia – wants to be a part of.

“It isn’t just a matter of walls and roofs, although the quality of these are very important. Emaar is offering lifestyle choices that people want.”

“It is because we have been able to do so successfully that within five years of launching Emirates Hills we can hand over our 10,000th property. No other group in this region has approached this rate of delivery and today’s handover puts down a marker for how much Emaar has achieved,” Alabbar added.

“Emaar has opened the 10,000th door to a new lifestyle for yet another customer and this is something we can be proud of,” said Emaar’s Senior Manager – Property Management, Ahmad Al Falasi.

“We have come a long way in what is for this sector a very short space of time. We have been able to do so because we have managed to create enviable communities and lifestyles that people want to be part of. Each handover is more and more evidence of this.”

This is certainly the case for Mr Jamal Rabah, a Dubai based contractor, who became the lucky 10,000th home owner involved in the handover. To celebrate the event, Emaar today hosted a ceremony at his new three-bedroom Arabian Ranches house attended by Emaar’s Chairman and officials.

Mr. Rabah said he went with a client to see one of the Arabian Ranches homes, thought the finishings were great and ended up buying the property. The superb golf course was one of the attractions. He said: “One of the main reasons I took the house at Arabian Ranches was because I wanted to start playing golf again. Over the past few years it has been difficult to find time to play, but there is no excuse now I have a magnificent desert course right on my doorstep.”

Emaar has made it even easier for Mr. Rabah to pursue his hobby, awarding him annual membership of the Arabian Ranches Desert Course golf club as part of the package for the 10,000th home owner.

There was plenty for his family too, besides the joy of moving into a luxurious new home. His five children – two boys and three girls – are enthusiastic horse riders. As part of the welcome to their new home Emaar presented them with 50 one-hour riding lessons, annual membership of the Polo Clubhouse and use of its superb facilities.

Alabbar said: “We are in the business of making dreams come true. That is what we have been able to do for this family and for many thousands of others who live in Dubai.

“It is only the beginning. There are plenty more to come.”
