His Highness Sheikh Mohammed tours Emaar Healthcare Group pavilion at Arab Health 2008

Dubai, UAE; January 28, 2008: UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, today, toured the pavilion of Arab Healthcare Group at Arab Health 2008, the premier healthcare exhibition that is ongoing at the Dubai International Convention Centre. 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was briefed about Emaar Healthcare Group (EHG) by Mr Omar Moawiyah Al Shunnar, Executive Director, EHG. Mr Al Shunnar explained how EHG is aligned with the goals for healthcare development in the region as outlined in the UAE Federal Strategy and Dubai Strategic Plan. 

Emaar Healthcare Group is the Official Corporate Sponsor of Arab Health 2008. The healthcare subsidiary of Emaar Properties plans to develop 100 hospitals each with 200 bed capacities and super medical specialities in key emerging markets in the Middle East and North Africa region, the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia. 

Mr Al Shunnar said: “Healthcare is one of the key pillars of the UAE Federal Strategy and the Dubai Strategic Plan, and our objectives are closely aligned with the governmental goals for the development of the healthcare sector in the region.”

He added: “The objective of Emaar Healthcare Group is to deliver excellent holistic and integrated healthcare services to the communities it serves on a global scale. We have already formed key public-private partnerships in the region, and joined hands with international healthcare providers and research organisations. Through our participation at Arab Health 2008, we expect to identify further growth opportunities and explore the potential of new partnerships.”
