Emaar Properties donates AED 1 million to Dubai Autism Centre

Dubai, UAE, October 7, 2007: Emaar Properties has contributed AED 1 million to Dubai Autism Centre as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives and highlighting its community involvement during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

On behalf of Mohamed Ali Alabbar, Chairman, Emaar Properties, Ahmad Al Matrooshi, UAE Managing Director, handed over the cheque for AED 1 million to Mohammad Alemadi of Dubai Autism Centre.

The fund will lend impetus to the future expansion plans of Dubai Autism Centre, the largest, most innovative and comprehensive non-profit organisation in the UAE that serves children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The centre works to integrate children with autism into the community through a holistic approach of intervention and therapies.

“Dubai Autism Centre is doing invaluable service to the community since its establishment in 2001, and is focused on building a new centre apart from collaborations with internationally renowned organisations for further support to the centre’s programmes,” said Mr Al Matrooshi. “We hope our contribution will help Dubai Autism Centre to fulfil its expansion plans.”

Emaar undertakes several community-oriented initiatives as part of its corporate social responsibility. These include Emiratisation programmes for UAE nationals, career fairs to identify talented UAE nationals and support for non-profit organisations working for overall community welfare.
