Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club strengthens management team

Dubai, UAE, November 20, 2007: Emaar Hospitality Group has revamped the management structure of Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club and strengthened the managerial team to offer a wider range of lifestyle-driven services and amenities.

The new management team of the prestigious Club will manage all components including marketing, sales, membership, hospitality, conferences and events, sponsorship, polo and equestrian activities, as well as food and beverage services. The key appointments at the Club include Karim Klaa, General Manager; Omar Bin Biat, Equestrian & Polo Operations Manager; Niels van Baasbank, Polo Manager; Ershad Ahmed, Sales & Marketing Manager; and Rishiraj Bathnagar, Food & Beverage Manager.

“Since its establishment in April 2006, the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club has hosted international polo competitions, and served as a lifestyle venue to its member and visitors alike,” said Karim Klaa. “As part of the Emaar Hospitality Group, our vision is to offer members and guests an improved and consistent array of activities and amenities, open the Club to a wider audience - not just as an equestrian-focused venue but as a lifestyle destination.”

The new management team brings a wealth of hospitality experience to Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club from Europe and outstanding destination resorts across the globe. Several UAE nationals dedicated to equestrian maintenance and activities have also taken centre stage at the Club to further enhance its awareness throughout the region, and at an international scale.

Located within the well-established Arabian Ranches neighbourhood, the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club extends over 68 acres of desert landscape. Apart from polo, regarded as the Sport of Kings, the Club hosts show jumping and dressage, horse riding and desert hacking. It has 336 stables, 25 paddocks, two polo fields, one practice field and two riding/ show jumping arenas. The all-weather surfaces of the riding, show jumping and dressage areas are regarded as one of the best in the region.
