Harradine Golf wins Emaar Development Charity Golf Day |
Dubai, UAE, February 9, 2007: Harradine Golf clinched the Emaar Development Charity Golf Day tournament held at the Arabian Ranches golf course. The event also raised AED 600,000 for charity. The four-member team comprising Johnny Stenegard, Matthew Jones, Marty Brown and Anthony Hodgson scored 77 Stableford points in the best 2 from 4 format tournament. A ¾ handicap allowance was played from the respective Blue and Red Tee Courses. Highlights of the winner’s round of nines of 39 and 34 included 2 six pointers on holes 3 and 5. The runners-up one point adrift was the team representing JV – DBB and Al GCCC with 76 points. Third place went to DG Jones International (74 points) and fourth to NASA Multiplex (73) winning on a back nine countback. Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director - UAE, Emaar Properties, presented the trophies. He said: “Last year, we raised AED 500,000 through the Emaar Development Charity Day, which is part of our community oriented initiatives. This year, we have surpassed that target and raised over AED 600,000, which signals enhanced support from the public.” Eighteen teams of four members each competed in the Golf Day, which was supported by 11 support hole sponsors.
